About the course

EPBF Referee Course is a unique opportunity to become an internationally certified referee in all disciplines of pool billiards recognized by the International Olympic Committee, World Pool-Billiard Association, International University Sports Federation and their continental and national bodies.

Lectures

The course is delivered by EPBF Head Referee Miha Vovko and EPBF Head Referee Roman Mirakhmedov, who have been officiating European and world events, leading the EPBF Referee Team, and developing the theory and practice of pool refereeing in collaboration with other continental federations, for over a decade.

Certification exam

During the three full days of the course, which will include an official EPBF Referee certification exam, you will get to learn about a variety of topics, including the application of pool rules and regulations, understanding and dealing with unsportsmanlike conduct, resolving conflict, interrupting bias, ensuring fairness and objectivity, handling pressure, dealing with mistakes, moving around the table, working on live events with multi-camera crews, live microphones and multi-million audiences, managing the crowd, managing athletes, interpreting edge cases, reducing risk, and much more.

You will get an opportunity to practice at the table, and you will be evaluated against the EPBF Referee standard and get detailed feedback for improvement.

This is your chance to enter the world of International Refereeing and perhaps one day be assigned to the finals of European Championships.

Equipment

Bring your pool and referee equipment with you to the course.

Final remark

This is not a rules course. Every participant is expected to know the rules and regulations, and this is our starting point.
